The Carolina

The Carolina is located 1/4 mile south of The Cherokee Indian Reservation in Cherokee, N.C. We are centrally located to the area’s most entertaining activities. You can hike The Appalachian Trail, find a quiet walkway in The Great Smoky National Park, or take a ride on The Blue Ridge Parkway. You can take a train ride through the mountains on The Great Smoky Mountain Railway. You can play a round of golf on scenic courses, fish on Lake Fontana, or go horseback riding, all surrounded by gorgeous mountain views. You can enjoy all of the excitement and fun of Harrah’s Cherokee Casino, 1 mile away, open 24 hours a day, every day of the year.

We are the perfect location for planning day trips. Go north and cross the mountain through the park into Tennessee and explore Cades’s Cove. Go into Gatlinburg and visit The Ripley’s Aquarium and you can head over to Pigeon Forge for some great shopping or a family fun day at Dollywood. Go south towards Franklin for a day of gem mining or west towards The Nantahala Gorge for whitewater rafting or a tour of Fontana Dam. If you head east you can travel through Maggie Valley for some bluegrass at The Stomping Grounds or try your hand at skiing. You can also go to Asheville and explore The Biltmore House, spending the day and enjoy the grounds and gardens as well as taking in a wine tasting.
